The New Zealand Apostolic Congress on Mercy is congress is committed to carrying on the work inaugurated in Rome, at the World Apostolic Congress on Mercy (April 2008), as a new model for evangelisation by answering the call voiced by Cardinal Schönborn to be Apostles of Mercy by proclaiming mercy:
First, as a Way of Life;
Second, as a Message, and
Third, as a Devotion.
All those interested are encouraged to attend the congress promoted by the Diocese of Christchurch through the generosity of The Most Reverend Bishop Barry Jones DD, who will preside at the opening and closing Masses.
The Message of Mercy will also be explored through Scriptural study and in the context of pastoral needs and responses.
The Spiritual Patrons for NZACOM are:
• Our Lady of the Assumption
• St. Maria Faustina Kowalska
• St. Maximillian Kolbe
• St. Mary of the Cross (MacKillop)
• Bl. John Paul II
We invoke their intercession to begin the process to make our nation of New Zealand a ‘Land of New Zeal’.
First, as a Way of Life;
Second, as a Message, and
Third, as a Devotion.
